Office Ratty was looking for raspberry jam and cheese one day when he found treasure instead. Lots and lots of treasure.

Ratty nibbled on the treasure trove. It was certainly not edible. A pity. Even so, Something Would Have To Be Done. He decided that he must keep the trove safe for until its mysterious owner returned. What better way to keep it safe than by investing it! That way he could create even more treasure that he could also then proudly hand over (with paws) to the owner. Who knows, the owner might be so pleased that they would reward Ratty, perhaps with Jarlsberg cheese.

Office Ratty worked in an Office, as was the usual fate of office rats, so he knew how to look things up things on the Bright Box Thingamajig. He tapped into it, “Wise investments” and his whiskers quivered as he saw all sorts of ways to go about it. But how dull they looked.

But then he saw another way to go about it and this looked bright and cheerful and a lot of fun. So many pretty colours and pictures. All you had to do was scratch. Ratty was an expert at scratching. This so was perfect. All he had to do was exchange some bits of the treasure for one of the mesmerising bits of coloured cardboard. He began right away.

Ratty scritched and Ratty scratched. Easy. This was way more fun than Office Work. As the numbery thingys were revealed, some matched up to some other ones. What did this mean? He took the cardboard back to the place that sold bright bits of cardboard in exchange for treasure. He was given his pieces of treasure back. And he was offered a bit more besides. His investment had been most wise. He could take the extra back to add to the treasure chest. Or, he could get another bit of exciting cardboard. Ooooh, that was a hard choice. What to do? What to do?

What will Office Ratty do with the proceeds of his wise investment? Don’t miss the next exciting episode of OfficeRatty: A Rat Odyssey.
