Meet our very own Office Ratty

Office Ratty is one of our little friends who goes Out There, out of the house. Yes, he goes into the bright, wide world. Most of us stay warm and cosy and safe in the house, usually napping on the cushions. But Ratty bravely goes to an Office to earn a crust. He calls it ‘commuting’. Ratty is very experienced at commuting.

Just an office rat,
Any day of the week.
A stoic office rat
On a cold metal seat.

Office Ratty commutes to an office

In the dim winter light
Ratty waits, as he must,
To commute to an Office,
and there to make a crust*.

*Preferably a flaky crust topped by jarlberg cheese and a light spread of fig and date chutney. A rat can dream.

Soon, we will bring more posts with Ratty. You can also see our brave little guy on The Blither for Me, Mawson (whispered conference with friends), sorry on our Twitter . And on our BearAGram. He has his own cheese tag too (whispered conference) Errr, no it seems there is no cheese at all on the tag. Its a hash brown tag (more whispering) .. errr No, its just a Hash Tag. It looks like this: #OfficeRatty.

You have wandered into Mawson Bear’s web-den. Mawson is a Ponderer of Baffling Things (between naps) and the Writer-Bear of It’s A Bright World To Feel Lost In  and She Ran Away From Love.

Published by Baffled Bear Books

I am Mark, Guardian of Mawson Bear. Mawson is a big hearted, soul searching Writer-Bear. His little books are stuffed with moments of happiness for frazzled grownups. Why not slow down and relax a while with Mawson's friends in their cosy, whimsical world. Refresh the soul in the tranquility of innocent hours and simple joys.

  1. I love Office Ratty’s posts…Hmm, could he have his own book? I see a cover with John Brack’s painting ‘Collins St 5pm’, and Office Ratty in the foreground 🙂
