Gilbert Was Afraid of The Dark is a little picture book by Ian Parminter and Vicki Jones (Illustrated by John Parminter) and is a Halloween story perfect for reading aloud on a spooky night.

But it’s suitable not just for Halloween but at any time for any little person – or little ghost – afraid of the dark. For Gilbert is a ghost. Being ghostly, he has lived a long time, 150 years in fact, although he is only a young ghost, only 8 years old. The trouble is, being a young ghost and all alone, he is scared of the dark.

So when he meets three children who like to play in his house during the day light hours he is delighted to join their games. With their help he learns to have fun and to not be afraid of the darkness of nighttime after all.

But how do the children do it? How do they help Gilbert to overcome his fear? Well, that’s all in this little book. It has nice big font that you can easily read even by torch light on a spooky night, and the bright little illustrations make this a grand read to scare away the darkness.
Gilbert Was Afraid Of The Dark is a published by Crows Feet Books and available from Amazon in paperback (only $9.00) and Kindle.
