Everybody needs a listener sometimes.

It’s grand to be trusted to be the listen-ee,

Umm the hearing-er-er,
Bother, the umm, friend who will listen.

Sometimes a friend won’t even know where to start.
You can be a good listener then just by waiting.

If you don’t know what to say to them, there’s no need.
To comfort most, be lost for words.

While you’re listening,
the grandest bear in all their world
is you.

Your being someone who they can talk to if they want to
is mostly all your friend wants in the end.
