It isn’t easy being a writer bear. But books do love to be written

Dear fellow Baffled Ones,

We bears discovered that to make a book just right, there must be lots of pondering, writing, editing, revision, and wurrying about it all. There is something else no one told us about: there are in between moments of waiting.

Being a pondering kind of bear, I fall into naps during most in between moments. I fall into naps during most things, really. But especially during in between moments. This makes Waiting much easier to bear for writer bears.

Frilly and Mawson Bear’s helper team keep learning about all it takes to make a book.

My helpers are not falling into naps at all. They are making sure they have remembered all the things to do to take ‘She Ran Away From Love’, the next book by Me, Mawson Bear, out to the wide bright world. They are making important phone calls on the important green phone and fixing the cameras to make the pictures. And they are finding out how best to do stuff on the Botheration-Net to tell everyone about ‘She Ran Away From Love’. Because you have to do a lot of Stuff even though what you really want to do is a little book of ponders with pictures in it. How did it all ever get so hard, between naps, for Writer-Bears?

I am Mark, Guardian of Mawson Bear. Mawson sits on Bed-Top Hill. Between naps he ponders about Baffling Things. After deep ponders, most things remain for him as completly baffling as they were before. But they do seem friendlier, somehow. If you, too, are baffled by, well, Things, his little books of ponders could be just right for you.
